The Wheeling Plant manufactures chiller tubes in copper C12200 in ¾" and 1" outer diameter with various wall thickness. Tubes for high-pressure (i.e. R134a) and low-pressure refrigerants (i.e. R123) are available. For other fin tubes please visit

Wieland tubes are designated as GEWA-B (boiling tube) or GEWA-C (condensing-tube). GEWA is short for the German word "GEWALZT" or "rolled".
Chiller tubes have an outside and inside enhanced surface for better heat transfer performance. The enhancing process is similar to a roll-forming process. The inside surface looks like a rifled surface; the outside surface contains special microstructures. The increase of the heat transfer performance of this special type of tubing goes beyond the increase in surface area.
Our in-house laboratory can provide exact heat transfer performance data. An increased heat transfer performance of the chiller tubes allows our customers in the air-conditioning and refrigeration industry to either reduce the size of a shell and tube heat exchanger or instead increase its performance.
